If you’re taking a vacation soon, there are some things you need to tick off your to-do list, such as book the best 5 star resorts in Vietnam, book and confirm your airplane tickets, figure out the tour package and activities you want to do in Vietnam, check everybody’s passport, and pack your luggage for the trip. Now that you’re down to the last item on your list, we’re here to help you figure out what to pack inside your travel luggage.
Here’s our list of must-haves for your vacation in Vietnam:
Travel documents
Other than clothing and money, these are the most important items you should make sure to pack just before your flight. Since you don’t need a visa to enter Vietnam, all you need is your passport, your airplane booking, your travel itinerary and hotel reservations, copies of your driver’s license, copies of your health insurance card, and also your travel insurance information.
Travel Security
When travelling to a foreign country, there is always the risk of being unsafe or falling prey to pickpockets, scammers, and thieves, especially when you let your guard down. The best way is to plan ahead by making sure your important things are hidden or locked away. It’s a good idea to bring an incognito money belt where you can hide your stash of cash. It’s also good to have a luggage travel lock so you can keep your things safe and locked up tight when you leave your hotel room at La Veranda Resort.
Travel Money
The official currency in Vietnam is the Vietnam dong, symbolised by VND, and they only use small paper bills and no coins as money. Make sure to have cash on hand by heading to the nearest currency exchange stall at the airport when you arrive. Aside from local currency, it’s also best to carry some of your own currency for emergencies. More importantly, if you have credit cards, talk to your bank ahead of time to make sure it’s usable in Vietnam.
Now that you’ve got everything to make sure you travel safely and securely, it’s time to pack the items that will help make your trip hassle-free and fun. You don’t have to bring a full suitcase of stuff, just bring these items:
- Portable charger with electronic converter/adapter
- E-reader or tablet (or real books if you prefer them)
- Earphones/headphones (consider also noise-reducing headphones if you want a peaceful sleep)
- Adventure camera (for those underwater snapshots)
- Aqua shoes (there are waterfalls, springs, and lakes you can explore around Vietnam, so it’s best to be ready
- Sunscreen (a lot of it)
If you’re travelling for a business trip, make a checklist of your conferences and meetings ahead of time to see if you can squeeze in some pleasure mixed with business. Perhaps you still have after-office hours to enjoy cocktails at the local bar or taste Vietnam’s signature coffee flavors.
Even seasoned travellers take the time to really sort and organize their travel luggage to make sure everything’s in order and to bring all necessary items for business or vacation. Jot down these recommendations, and all we can wish you is a happy trip!
